Scenery and Ballasting Begins at Corning, NY!


Lackawanna Terminal track gangs have begun the task of ballasting sections of the railroad. The first complete section is the curve between Stradivarius Steel in Corning and the beginning of the eastern staging yard. In addition, this section will be the first to be scenicked, in an attempt to test out various scenery techniques. This section consists of a rock cut, constructed from styrofoam bead board, and to be covered by a papier-mache mixture. Watch this space for future scenic updates! Seen above is the track (yes, there is a slight superelevation in there!) with ballast.
